Orcad 16.5 Demo Software: What You Need to Know Before You Start
A PCB schematic can be created by the designer for the schematic. While the designer can create a layout within OrCAD itself, or save the schematic to an external application, we don't recommend that most designers do this as it is a time consuming process. These designs can be imported into other schematic capture tools if the designer wishes to move the designs to a host application. Circuits often require multiple views for design verification.

PCB layout is an interactive process that involves interactions with data outside of the tool. You can control what you want OrCAD to do using the settings in the Navigation and Simulation tabs. We recommend that you read about what your settings do in the user guide. These settings should be consistent across projects. If you want to reset a project back to defaults, just set a new defaults configuration.
The Orcad Design Award is one of the highest recognition for PCB design excellence. The award recognizes outstanding high-quality, multi-functional designs that embody our philosophy of "Creativity by Design" and encourage innovative thinking to create what is important to you and your customers. The award is presented to the top-winning original PCBs and other outstanding electrical and mechanical products that have won in the competition.
Other awards are based on the use of Orcad tools, on outstanding workmanship, and on the ability to execute perfectly. Many of our competition winners have also been recognized by the printed circuit industry as being creative and innovative, creating the next generation of design tools and valuable PCB products.
