What's New in InfluxDB 2.0 Open Source: Features and Benefits

For added security, use gpg to verify the signature of your download.(Most operating systems include the gpg command by default. If gpg is not available, see the GnuPG homepage for installation instructions.)

To unpackage the downloaded archive, double-click the archive file in Finderor run the following command in a macOS command prompt application suchTerminal or iTerm2:

influxdb download 2.0

macOS Catalina requires downloaded binaries to be signed by registered Apple developers.Currently, when you first attempt to run influxd or influx, macOS will prevent it from running. To manually authorize the InfluxDB binaries:

From within your new directory, run the InfluxDB Docker container with the --volume flag topersist data from /var/lib/influxdb2 inside the container to the current working directory inthe host file system.

Note: Use this client library with InfluxDB 2.x and InfluxDB 1.8+. For connecting to InfluxDB 1.7 or earlier instances, use the influxdb-python client library. The API of the influxdb-client-python is not the backwards-compatible with the old one - influxdb-python.

  • Flux data structure: FluxTable, FluxColumn and FluxRecordinfluxdb_client.client.flux_table.CSVIterator which will iterate over CSV lines

  • Raw unprocessed results as a str iterator

  • Pandas DataFrame

The API also support streaming FluxRecord via query_stream, see example below:

  • proxy - Set this to configure the http proxy to be used, ex. :3128proxy_headers - A dictionary containing headers that will be sent to the proxy. Could be used for proxy authentication.

from influxdb_client import InfluxDBClientwith InfluxDBClient(url=" :8086", token="my-token", org="my-org", proxy=" :3128") as client:Note

  • influxdb_client.client.write_api_async.WriteApiAsyncinfluxdb_client.client.query_api_async.QueryApiAsync

  • influxdb_client.client.delete_api_async.DeleteApiAsync

  • Management services into influxdb_client.service supports async operation

and also check to readiness of the InfluxDB via /ping endpoint:

  • influxdb_client.client.influxdb_clientinfluxdb_client.client.influxdb_client_async

  • influxdb_client.client.write_api

  • influxdb_client.client.write_api_async

  • influxdb_client.client.write.retry

  • influxdb_client.client.write.dataframe_serializer

  • influxdb_client.client.util.multiprocessing_helper

  • influxdb_client.client.http

  • influxdb_client.client.exceptions

The default logging level is warning without configured logger output. You can use the standard logger interface to change the log level and handler:

When version 1.x is selected these nodes use the influxDB 1.x client for node.js, specifically calling the writePoints(), and query() methods. Currently they can only communicate with one influxdb host. These nodes are used for writing and querying data in InfluxDB 1.x to 1.8+.

Queries one or more measurements in an influxdb database. The query is specified in the node configuration or in the msg.query property. Setting it in the node will override the msg.query. The result is returned in msg.payload.

For example, here is a simple flow to query all of the points in the test measurement of the test database. The query is in the configuration of the influxdb input node (copy and paste to your Node-RED editor). We are using a v1.x InfluxDb here, so an InfluxQL query is used.

Errors in reads and writes can be caught using the node-red catch node as usual.Standard error information is availlable in the default msg.error field; additionalinformation about the underlying error is in the msg.influx_error field. Currently, this includes the HTTP status code returned from the influxdb server. The influx-readnode will always throw a 503, whereas the write nodes will include other status codesas detailed in the Influx API documentation.

Initialize the database with bolt-path and engine-path options. These 2 options will repectively customize the bolt database and the engine database locations, otherwise they are created in the directory $HOME/.influxdbv2.

Once the configuration is created, you can simply click on its name in the Telegraf tab and download the configuration file. You can further edit this file for usage with the MQTT or Webhook integration.

Last year I published a revised set of InfluxDB nodes node-red-contrib-influxdb for Node-RED with significant contributions by Alberto Armijo @aarmijo (thank you!). This new version supports both InfluxDb 1.x and 2.0 using both the older InfluxQL query syntax and Flux query syntax.

Im new to all of this but got raspberrypi installed and connected via SSH with Putty. When I try to run the first command for installing influxdb I and getting errors such asgpg: no valid OpenPGP data found. and E: Unable to locate package influxdb2. Any ideas what this issue is?

I had the exact same issue. I did some googleing and found out influxdb2 is not compatible with 32 bit version of the RPI OS. After installing on 64 bit version it worked the first time following the steps on this tutorial.

By default, influxdb service will be in Inactive state. So after installation you need to start the service by using systemctl start influxdb command as shown below. To verify the status, you can use systemctl status influxdb command. If all goes well, then it should you in active and running state as shown below.

Before running the application (the server and web interface), install InfluxDB 2.0.0+.Download the version matching your OS and architecture from the InfluxData downloads page.Configure your username, organization, and token.

What we can do to save our data is to make a copy of /root/.influxdbv2/, but we prefere to use build-in features and be able to restore the data into another instance of InfluxDB 2.0. This is were the problems begin.

The influxdb integration makes it possible to transfer all state changes to an external InfluxDB database. See the official installation documentation for how to set up an InfluxDB database, or there is a community add-on available.

The influxdb sensor allows you to use values from an InfluxDB database to populate a sensor state. This can be used to present statistics as Home Assistant sensors, if used with the influxdb history integration. It can also be used with an external data source.

You may get latest build (EA version) of DBeaver. Usually it contains all major bug fixes found in current stable version. Just choose the archive corresponding to your OS and hardware from the following folder: EA version downloads.

Now that we have Sensu events from our checks and metrics, we need to handle them. Sensu-influxdb-handler, a little tool I wrote, will transform any metrics contained in a Sensu event and send them off to a configured InfluxDB. Make sure you download the newest handler from releases.

The InfluxDB service crashes with an exit code of 137 and reason "OOMKilled". In order to display the crash status, enter the magctl service status influxdb CLI command on the Cisco DNA Center console as shown in this example:

There is also a workaround for customers who run Cisco DNA Center Releases 2.1.2.1 through 2.2.2.5 and are unable to upgrade immediately. The workaround requires installation of a script that is available for download on Cisco.com. Follow these instructions to download, install, and run the script:

If you are an organization using Chocolatey, we want your experience to be fully reliable. Due to the nature of this publicly offered repository, reliability cannot be guaranteed. Packages offered here are subject to distribution rights, which means they may need to reach out further to the internet to the official locations to download files at runtime.

Click the "Add Folder" button and choose the location on your host filesystem, where InfluxDB will be storing its persistent data (most notably the database). I chose docker/influxdb. Click "Select" button to go back to previous window.
